Controversy at “C” team game.
There was a controversial finish to this afternoon’s “C” team game at home to Greasby “B”. After continuous rain from mid morning the match started on time on a green fully fit for play but after 5 blocks and with the Vics leading by 73 shots, Greasby decided that it was too wet to continue. After discussions between the two captains, agreement could not be reached and with the Greasby players refusing to play, Lennie Sherbrooke had no option but to call off the remainder of the match and refer to the league secretary for advice.
