Bolt,Buzz and Vyke stamp their authority against Queens Royal.
In a 1st round Presidents Cup match played at Magazines tonight, Bernie Owen(Bolt) and Anthony Thompson(Buzz) with 21-07’s and Tony Vyskocil (Vyke)21-09 stamped their authority early on in a Vics win by 38 shots against last years division 1 runners up Queens Royal. On a hot muggy evening, Neil Sherbrooke, Robby Franklin and Robby Fitzpatrick all had close victories and when Matty Gilmore closed proceedings with a close 21-19 against Colin Saville, the Vics laid to rest the ghost of losing to the Royal at Manor Road two years ago. With no player scoring less than 17 skipper Mally Johnson’s caution as regards his so called weaker players once again proved to be unfounded. This was a fine win for the Vics and with two wins this season over the Royal, the crunch league encounter to come in July will be a game not to be missed.
